If you intend to share your journey with another driver, please register the named driver at the time you make your car reservation or when you arrive to pick up your car.

Young Drivers

Fox Autorent does not charge an extra premium for young drivers, those who are below the age of 25.

However please note that for young drivers only the High Risk Insurance Option is available.

Crossing the Border

If you intend to visit another country outside Hungary’s borders, you will need to obtain a Border Crossing Permit from us. This is for both legal and insurance purposes and you will often be asked to produce your permit at a border checkpoint particularly if you are visiting eastern and southern European countries in the European Union, and especially if travelling to non-EU countries. You may also risk a substantial fine if you cannot produce such a document and it may also affect the insurance cover on your car.

Border crossing for EU and neighboring countries upon request and permission. Prohibited countries: Kosovo, Albania, Ukraine.

Because some countries are more notorious than others for car theft and robbery, FOX AUTORENT may restrict your insurance cover (i.e. Increase the excess payments) or may refuse to provide any insurance cover at all!

Important note: If you do not have a Border Crossing permit for the country in which you are driving, your insurance cover becomes invalid and you will be liable for all costs even if you are not at fault.
